The Best Ways To Give Unique/Custom Gifts
When you give someone a gift you will want it to be a personal and thoughtful gesture that will show them that you took the time and effort to think about them and that you know them well enough to choose a gift that they’ll really like. This means that just buying something from a list, or getting a film you know they want, won’t really make much of an impact or always be as well received as it could be – it might be thoughtful an well meant, but ultimately it’s something they could have made themselves.
No, if you want to make your gifts really special and really make a splash then they need to be unique – and one of the best ways to accomplish this is to make them from scratch yourself or to customize something that already exists. This will obviously mean that there is no duplicate of the item anywhere in the world, but more importantly it will mean that they can see that you’ve put time and thought into creating something rather than just going out and picking it up.
There are many ways you can create your own custom gifts or tinker with ones that you purchase. Here we will look at some of the ways to do that…
Engraving
If it’s a piece of jewellery you’re giving and you want it to be special, then what better way to ensure that it is than by getting it engraved with a personal message or perhaps their name. This way it will be the only example of that piece of jewellery as it is in the world, and it will also have more sentimental value because of the time and thought you put into it as well as the fact that it will now remind them even more of you because it will have your writing on it.
Printing
Using printing companies you can make things like photo books, or have images and text printed onto crockery, t-shirts, mouse mats, lanyards and more. This way you can turn a relatively mundane gift such as a mug into something completely unique and probably quite humorous as well.
3D Printing
Using 3D printing companies it’s possible to make 3D items from any material whether that means plastic, metal or china. This way you can make someone something completely unique and at the same time be sure to impress them with your creativity and your command of technology. You just need a piece of 3D design software.
Arts and Crafts
Of course though if you’re very talented in arts and crafts then you won’t need the aid of any fancy technology to make your gift – you can just dive right in there and make something completely unique from scratch whether it’s jewellery or carpentry. Of course artistic endeavours are great too and this can mean a painting or even composing a piece of music – great if it’s meant to be a romantic gift.
Tailoring
If you want to make something but don’t have the confidence to do so from scratch, then taking an existing object and then tailoring it is a great alternative and this could mean cropping an item of clothing or painting a mug. Either way you have the benefit of having an item of professional quality, but at the same time the ability to make it unique and special.
