Different Ways to Use your Photos

The days of posting pictures on the refrigerator door appear to be over, what with the digital camera taking over its film counterpart. So what exactly can you do with the photos you take, apart from posting them online through social media networks?

Believe it or not, there’s a lot you can do with these photographs. Here are five very fun things you can do to keep the memories alive in your daily life.

Digital photo frames

Displaying pictures has been in practice for decades, so mentioning “display” might seem a tad underwhelming. However, digital photo frames take photo displays to a whole different level. Instead of static photographs, you can set these frames to run slideshows so you can show off more of your photos. This also eliminates clutter around the house, since you won’t need a separate frame for each one of your favorite photographs. More importantly, it capitalizes on the strengths of digital pictures – since it requires no printing, you never have to worry about quality degradation.

“Paint” your picture

Most photography enthusiasts enjoy seeing people’s reactions to their work. It doesn’t matter if you’re an amateur; a photograph you took of a sunset that captures the light perfectly deserves to be shared with people who can appreciate it. Now you can actually show off your work without having to rely on social media. There are a lot of companies who will gladly blow up your photograph and frame it so you can display it at home. But a better option is to turn your photo into a painting. There are a lot of companies online that provide this service so it shouldn’t be too difficult to turn that landscape photo of yours into a stunning painting.

Create a scrapbook

Now this is a little more old school. People already know that they can create scrapbooks using their pictures. These days, though, scrapbooks have become a little more sophisticated. Instead of creating them by hand, you get to decorate your blank books on your computer. Add pictures and words easily. There’s no need to worry about mistakes because correcting a digital scrapbook isn’t a chore at all. Have it printed as a book and you will have a lovely keepsake.

Eat it

Surprisingly, it’s now very easy to turn your pictures into something edible. Just pick the photo you like and hand it over to the bake shop. They can now create cakes or even cupcakes with this picture as the topper. Of course, it isn’t as long-lasting as the other options here, but it’s still a fun way to use your photos.

Puzzle it

Another option is to use a photo to puzzle service, wherein a photograph you took can be taken and turned into a puzzle you and your family can work on. All you have to do is pick the service, upload the image, and then wait for the package to arrive. It’s also possible to make a photo puzzle then send it out as a gift to friends and family members. Now that’s a significant step up from the usual Christmas postcards.
